Layering question, or alternative

Postby SchwartzBwithU » Sun Oct 20, 2013 10:13 am

Hi all! :D
Hope you're all having a great weekend.
Fairly new to Inkscape and need some help. I'm using Inkscape to create and export .EPS files to a plotter.
I imported a pic of a car and did the following.
Path>trace bitmap>3 colors>3 scans. This was the simplest I could get it and still keep the images form.
Removed original. Edit> select all. Object> group.
This locked the layers together, and I can somewhat cleanup the vectors individually.
Is there a way to 'weld' all 3 layers together? So that each layers nodes showed up as 1 full vector.
Or is there a better way to go about this?

Hello:
It seems to me, in the way as you describe your method, that you are using groups, not layers.
See here:

Or maybe, I didn't understand
If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.
2.- Please check here:

3.- If you manage to solve your problem, please post here your solution.
