Hello all,
I've received a PDF which I want to modify in Inkscape, I want to add some text to it.
I've opened it in Inkscape 0.46 (april 2008) on Windows XP.
When I select the contents, it's one large group of objects, which I ungroup.
I then select one item of the group, which turns out to be another group. When I try to ungroup that item, my Inkscape freezes.
Processor load goes to 100%, and after 15 minutes, still nothing happens.
It turns out that the process CSRSS.exe uses more than 90% processor capacity. I can use my other applications, but Inkscape is frozen. The only way to get out of it is killing the Inkscape process in the task manager.
It happens on two different computers.
This phenomenon does not happen in the DEV build I also have installed (Inkscape20607-0902010619)
By using the DEV build, I can do what I need to do, but I wonder why is CSRSS (= Microsoft Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem) getting involved in the ungroup action?
Problem with a certain PDF / CSRSS.exe
Re: Problem with a certain PDF / CSRSS.exe
Don't pay attention to what Windows reports - it's very unreliable Of course Inkscape does not rely on any Windows programs, it is a cross-platform and quite self-contained application. We did have some freeze on ungroup bugs, hopefully they are all fixed now.
