hi all. im new, very, very new!!
we have recently bought a business set up and are hoping to run it as a small family business. we have a liyu tc631 610mm plotter. we have only had everything since Thursday and we are doing our best to learn how to use everything. little project everyday. we are using inkscape and sign cut pro. we are making lots of mistakes but hopefully now ive stumble across this forum, we can learn how to do things properly. please be patient with me and use basic terms (or basic explanations of more complicated terms lol).
right tonights question is about layers. ive created a snowman picture to go with a 'do you wanna build a snowman?' project for my daughter (and any clients that would like the same). of course i cant cut it all at once as it has different colours. ive created layers (just had a play around so i think ive done it right, how do i tell? i can see the different titles coming up at the bottom saying which layer has what in.) now how do i seperate them to cut the different parts out of the corresponding vinyl? i think i need to use registration marks? how? i can find something to do with registration marks in sign cut but not inkscape. i only know about reg marks as the previous owner gave us a brief run down on how to use the program and i remember him saying thats how you line up different parts of a picture.
if you dont mind me annoying you with a billion questions, id like to stay. ive found the tutorial section and already learnt a couple of tricks. this forum is going to be a big help.
i have some complicated disabilities which had led me to believe i will never be able to return to work but if we can make a go of this business, it may give me and my family a future to be proud of. so any help will be very much appreciated.
thanks nyk red hot vinyls

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

There's a nice little forum called Inkscape Cutting Design (http://www.inkscapecuttingdesign.com/index.php?). I think it's more directed to those home/craft cutter machines. But they still may have more specific info about your machine.
We're pretty limited to the Inkscape side here. How to use Inkscape with your vinyl cutter might be known by only a couple of members (if any), who probably don't visit very often.
Also, there's another forum, somewhere, for using Inkscape with computerized wood cutting equipment (CNC routers, I think is what they're called). At least 1. Sorry that I don't have a link or even can remember the name.
Wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a forum somewhere for using INkscape with vinyl cutters!
Not trying to get rid of you at all -- but just in the spirit of getting you the best help possible
PS -- Also study all the documentation for the machine. Search the internet for the name of the machine. Maybe there's a forum for that machine, who knows?

thanks for the tips. i guess what inkscape means to me and what it means to many of you is totally different. to me its a means to creating a cut-able product. didnt even think of it like that haha.
