My very first project, mix of Gimp 2.8 and Inkscape, using a Intuos3 Wacom tablet. I know it isn't all that great, but hey, first thing I did with a tablet so I'm fairly satisfied.
Your opinions?
Anyone else here use tablets??

Re: First project with a tablet
I use a tablet with Gimp but not with Inkscape. As I don't do "strokes" in Inkscape. But clicks instead. I'm wondering how many people use a tablet with inkscape. And which tasks are better with a tablet?

That's an interesting question and I'd be interested in hearing opinions about this matter, too. I too am member of the click-rather-than-draw-party and to be honest, I can't really imagine using a tablet with Inkscape. But then I haven't really used a tablet for anything so I guess it's not really a surprise.

With a tablet you have much better control over the calligraphy tool.
Drawing nice strokes with it wouldn't be a problem anymore, can use it with the brightness scan option to create those hatched images in no time.
Also, you can set up pressure sensitivity. Otherwise it could give up on copperplate.

OK. Calligraphy. Makes sense. I rarely use that though. Do you use a tablet with the calligraphy tool?

I don't have, but it definitely would change my overall drawing process from ludicrously nit-picking constructed to "it looks legit thus it stays" kind of sloppy.
Or at least I could take the benefits at some artistic styles involved in that mentioned hatching topic, and similar ones.
