I would like to engrave in wood some black & white silhouettes of different objects.
So in inkscape i use EGGbot extension to make fill. But i find it very inconsistent because the vector lines are somehow randomly arranged( it will make a line on the top, then in the middle, then button, and its just jumping until all lines are drawn, instead of ne line-> move down-> one line. And when the puzzle of random lines is complete the whole picture looks somewhat inconsistent.
How to print fill so it prints line by line across the whole length ? Like normal inkjet printer is printing text.

When I design for embroidery the order of the paths is very important so I see your problem. I made a tutorial for my (quite tedious) way of controlling the path-directions and path-order. I hope you get more sofisticated answers. My cutter/plotter-software have functionality to print with minimized movement. That would be a nice extension to have in inkscape. I have considered coding it myself.
