Hi.
FIrst of all I have to say I just love the consept of the new sliders in the latest beta versions of Inkscape.
But a dumb question is still to be asked, what is the name of that type of sliders?

Thanks.
Would it be an idea to use a "spinscale" to adjust stroke width?

TBH I am not really convinced this would be really useful or convenient. What would be the (hard-coded) range for the spinscale slider (the upper limit)?
If the range is too small, it might fail for users working on large-scale drawings, or when having e.g. a special case where one needs a huge stroke width (e.g. with fake hatches like described here).
If the range is too big, it's far to easy with the new spinscale sliders to inadvertently adjust the width totally out-of-whack for the current selection (since only the bottom mode of the two drag modes is useful - to adjust the values within a small-scale range only, based on the current value).
Also, stroke widths in technical drawings often need to be set precisely (i.e. numerically), unlike adjusting colors and opacity in artistic drawings.
Note that you already can adjust the stroke width freely with a mouse gesture (same as for colors), and soon likely will be able to do so with the mouse scroll wheel (when hovering the stroke width indicator in the status bar):
