Hi. I need someone to convert an AI file to either PDF or Corel Draw or some usable format.

I bought an image from Adobe Stock previously known as Dollar Photo Club. I am using Corel Draw X5 which can import a host of different files. I have Ghost Script installed (with Corel Draw) but this also doesn't seem to be able to open this particular AI file.

I've uploaded the file to 3 different online file converters but 2 of them return with a low res 72 dpi bitmap, no vectors, even when I select to convert to CDR. One of them said: "There was a problem converting your file - conversion failed". I converted to EPS and PS with similar results. I even tried converting to PNG with the hope that it may return a higher resolution output but with the same 72 dpi result. Other EPS files import to Corel Draw X5 properly. I guessed that it might be a version problem.

So I thought that I would try to import to Ink Scape and then export again but even Ink Scape can't load this sucker! Ink Scape has an AI importer for AI ver 9.0 and above as well as AI ver 8.0 and below. I've tried both to no avail !!! What on earth!

Anyways... So is there anyone kind enough who has AI installed who is willing to convert an AI file to a proper working format of EPS or CDR or AI (if you must)

Check this.

Probably pdf content wasn't included in the ai file, meaning you will need ai to open it in its fullness.
There are number of things that could go wrong, like multiple pages, layers, unsupported blending modes, gradient meshes etc. Who really knows.
(I don't have illustrator at hand.)

I did check out the link you gave. The best suggestion there is to install the trial version of AI. Thanks !
