I have worked through the decision to use the product TuxPlot as a middle software to interface between my Linux Mint 17.1 machine and a new UScutter SC 801 vinyl cutter.

Everything works as advertised and I am happy with where I am at. I have taken several Youtube tutorials on Inkscape and have the basics down. I can draw things, plot them. What I am looking for now is a tutorial to help me understand the how to create objects, control their order of print/cut and pick the pen up at the right time. If someone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I have viewed a few videos, but only "do this" "do that" and I don't understand the foundation that will allow me to do more complex things.
