Hello from the Netherlands.
My name is Wil, in inkscape I draw mostly miniature furniture scale 1:12
My wive Hetty make them very precisely to 0,05 mm, only for fun.
Sometimes for others as the dollhouse of the princesses from Holland and others.
I used mostly adobe illustrator, and have little problems with inkscape,
and I hope to find the solution on this form.
Here the site with miniaturehttp://frommew.home.xs4all.nl/miniaturen.html

Re: Hello from the Netherlands.
Hello Wil!
Those look fabulous.
0,05 mm in 1:12? That would mean the smallest part would be 0,6 mm in it's true scale. Wood deforms more than that with humid on an 1:1 wood box.
0,05 mm is the thickness of powder coating. Have no clue how that is possible to work in that scale. It's incredible.
Hope we can help if a problem appears.

Thanks,
But I cannot make them, My wife make them, I make the drawings.
The lines of the drawing must be very precisely, the thickness is often a problem.
So I have to print very thin and sharp lines.
thanks fo yoyr help.

Re: Hello from the Netherlands.
Hello Wil,
So, I'm a beginner here too. Have you already had an answer for your question? BTW I'm from the Netherlands too, very beautiful those little chairs from Rietveld.
There is a new book on Inkscape in Dutch now, you can read about it in the topic Dutch book on GIMP, Inkscape & Scribus. I am one of the authors.
In your case, you might first go to:
(in Dutch, because that is clearer)
Hoofdmenu > Bestand > Inkscapevoorkeuren > Gereedschappen >Te gebruiken omvattend vak, vink aan Geometrisch omvattend vak.
In English: Menu > File> Inkscape Preferences > Tools > Bounding box to use: Geometric bounding box.
That means that you can work more precisely.
Than work in millimeters? So the lines will be as thin as possible. You can adjust the document settings by going to:
Hoofdmenu > Bestand > Documenteigenschappen > Pagina > Standaardeenheid: mm
and
Hoofdmenu > Bestand > Documenteigenschappen > Rasters > Nieuw rechthoekig raster (raster=grid)
In this grid, you can adjust the space between the guidelines. So, your grid will be what you need.
Now when you draw lines, you must use the fill& stroke (Ctrl+ shift+ F) menu to make your lines as thin as you want.
Use the snap to grid (kleven aan raster) in order to use the grid effectively.
Use zoom in & out to get a more precise grid.
Did this help you?
I'll try to upload the svg file here on my dropbox. This is the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/klh5fb9qh3m042q/raster%20in%20mm.svg
Greetings,
