We have an opening date for the new forum, which is this August. Wider announcements will go out next month.

But I wanted to mention it here, now, in case anyone wants to have a new look. I've just finished setting up the boards and categories. It's much like both the forums already are, but it's not set in stone. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, I'd love to heard them.

I think I mentioned this before, but the Inkscape website in general is supposed to be getting a bit of a makeover to celebrate the release of 1.0 (as far as I've been told). And the forum appearance will be brought in line to look more like the rest of the website.
