I've just discovered a really cool forum feature that I didn't know about before. I just HAVE to share it! I often have to share my email address, if I plan to have an extended discussion with other members. That's because the PM Inbox only holds 50 messages. Some messages I don't want to delete, in case I might need something in the message later on. But it's gotten to the point that I have 25 message that I want to keep, which effectively makes my Inbox able to hold only 25 messages. I have to go through and delete messages every couple of months, to keep room available for new messages.
So I was looking at my Inbox, and noticed a menu item that I have overlooked until now "Rules, folders and settings". So I clicked to investigate. Not only can rules be made for PMs, something like rules for email; but you can create new PM folders!! New folders appear to hold 50 messages, just like the Inbox folder. So now I've made a new folder, and moved all the messages that I want to save into it. And abracadabra, my PM Inbox is empty! Space for 50 messages again!
Now I don't know how many folders one can have. I assume there must be some limit. But even if it's only one extra folder, it really relieves me from having to delete messages that I would rather hold on to. While I'm glad I found this, I wish I had known about it earlier. Because I have deleted a lot of messages that I would rather have kept, but just didn't have room for.
So there you go, some really nice features that I'll bet a lot of you didn't know about
