I have tried to reproduce your problem, but since I don't have any program capable of opening DXF files, I can't test.

But I have one thought about it. Often when I use extensions in Inkscape, it is applied outside the image border. So maybe you will find it outside the image border?

Or when you say "border" do you mean the image border, or do you mean a path or stroke?

Well, it's a little frustrating for me, because I can't test it or troubleshoot (because I don't have a program that opens a DXF file).

I do know that DXF format is used for AutoCAD and cutting/plotting programs and machines. And I wonder if the fill was not included, because it doesn't matter to those programs. The cutting/plotting is done only along the paths, so maybe converting to DXF format removes fill colors??

That's really only a very huge guess, and probably not a very good one. It may be there is some problem with Inkscape's conversion to DXF, but I'm afraid I just don't know.

Are you using the DXF format for some reason other than AutoCAD or cutter/plotter machines?

Maybe someone else can chime in on this topic please??

I'll move it to the Help with Using Inkscape forum :D

You know what? I just thought of something! You said that you used Save As DXF? Before you did that, did you first Save As SVG? I can't explain why, but it seems that saving as SVG first, before saving in another format, has sometimes solved problems. It's simple enough to try it, right?
