Poppler import kills filtered item(s)?

Made an SVG with a filtered effect (drop shadow).
Saved a copy as pdf (rasterize filter effects selected, 300).
PDF looked ok in Adobe Reader.
Opened pdf in Inkscape via Poppler, no filtered object?

It works here on 0.48.

I assume it's not the filtering, but the "embedded raster image with alpha channel shades" the rasterisation produces.
Which is implemented as a raster image masked by another raster image in the pdf.

Can be a bug.

Seems anything masked does not save as pdf with .91.

Same here, anything masked with other shade than white -which could be covered by clipping.

Contrary transparent raster images are saved with masking.
