need help with curves

Postby glasslady » Mon Feb 09, 2015 2:06 am

I could use some help getting a smooth curve in which the curve increases at one end. I attached the shape as it is with my best efforts. I started with just a stroke from the spiral tool, and then converted it to an object to I could modify the shape. Next I made the stroke wide, and converted to path and made the ends taper.

Hi.

To accomplish the tapered path have a look at this;

A little "Spiro - Tutorial";

SVG Image
(You can save this SVG file and open in your own Inkscape -
right-click the image (Above) and use "Save Image As" (Firefox) or
"Save target as" (Internet Explorer).

If you change the path in step B to a "drop shape" the result will have one end "thicker" than the other.
Normally paths with fewer nodes looks "smoother" than a path with more nodes.

Have fun

Hi.

Sorry, my bad!

Use "Save Image As" in Firefox.

The "Tutorial" adjusted for your need;

SVG Image
(You can save this SVG file and open in your own Inkscape -
right-click the image (Above) and use "Save Image As" ).

Thanks. With practice it'll be great. I did see that if you select Elipse in shape, it will automatically taper the ends, and that the width can be adjusted.
