[solved] Can't resize Inkscape window and toolbars can't be

Postby varaonaid » Sun Apr 27, 2008 3:05 am

Hello!

I'm using Inkscape 0.46 under Ubuntu Gutsy. For some reason, the window is resized outside of the size of my screen so I can't see anything beyond the colorblocks at the bottom of the window. I've tried to maximize the screen (which doesn't work) and I've tried to manually resize it but although it will let me change the width of the window, it won't let me change the height. I've also tried disabling the Conpiz/Fusion effects and that makes no difference either. I then went into the Inkscape properties under the file menu and chose "don't save window geometry" to try to get things back to how they should be. Finally, when none of that worked, I did a complete uninstall and reinstall and that didn't work either. So, basically, I can't use any of the bottom toolbars or color bars (because the color scroll bar isn't showing either) and it's making Inkscape really difficult to navigate. Can anyone please help me figure this out? I would *really* appreciate it!!!

Thanks so much in advance!!

what is your screen size? Its a known issue that using Inkscape is difficult on smaller screens, i think its even more of an issue on Ubuntu. Try looking here near bottom as its an old bug Minimum window size is too large, also Preferences to make toolbars smaller have no effect on Ubuntu.

This issue is being addressed already Freedom from size tyrrany
