Hi! This is my first post here, even though I lurk. I've been using inkscape for a while now (with some experience in school using illustrator) and hadn't tried anything like it been.
I'm decently happy with it being one of my first "realistic" creations, but I think it could be improved. Let me know how you think I could best do this
Some details: I based the shape off of this picture and I tried to make the rest using my head. It's not as shiny.
Link to svg (couldn't find anywhere to host it well)
Thanks a lot for your time, it's much appreciated
Aluminum water bottle- Feedback Please!
Re: Aluminum water bottle- Feedback Please!
Welcome aboard!
The casted shadow is what could be improved largely.
It would be better if you make it from one path only.
And if you draw a geometrically correct shape. The shadow of the cap of the bottle looks way off.
You can use dropbox or inkscapecommunity's gallery to host svg-s.

Nice...
A google image search on: stainless bottle highlights
shows a number of examples for reference on highlights, speculars and shadows.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
