I've looked everywhere changed the code in the file, lined up go grid lines, exported 300 DTI to GIMP then scaled image size but I can not get a clear image for the web out of Inkscape. I understand there is a difference in vector vs bitmap but the whole web isn't fuzzy so somehow people can get a vector to a crisp bitmap image. I just super frustrated right now I need some straight answers that work.
Then what doesn't make much sense is I can do a alt/printscreen and I can get a much crisper screenshot image than the export method.

Please someone let me know how to export a crisp image.
Thank you
Export to PNG is fuzzy
Re: Export to PNG is fuzzy
Hi ewood, I've encountered this kind of problem before and might have an answer.
When you select the shapes on your Inkscape canvas, look at the x- and y-coordinates in the toolbar. If they're non-whole or exact-half numbers (ie. 104.639 as opposed to 105 pixels), that can have an impact because when Inkscape exports, it has to 'guess' how to display those mid-pixel measurements in the PNG.
On a related note, how's your Inkscape document set up? Are you working in cm, mm or px? Depending on which it is, you should try looking at your measurements for each object and again, try to keep to whole numbers of pixels if you're exporting the whole document.
There's an Extension called Pixelsnap built into Inkscape these days. I'm not at my PC so can't remember which menu it's under but again, try it and see if you get a better result.
Hope this helps.

Re: Export to PNG is fuzzy
Can you attach your svg file to play around and see what I get?
Re: Export to PNG is fuzzy
Just a simple thought: scale your svg design to the desired raster image's size -meaning that you can export it then at 90 dpi-,
then your screenshot at 100% zooming should look exactly the same resolution of your svg work.
And I see no reason why it could export at 90 dpi anything other than that.

Thanks guys I'll try this out, here's another example where I upload a header and looks like absolute crap
Website header

Exported PNG file and had to convert to JPG for website the header was for for the above link:

Re: Export to PNG is fuzzy
There is not much you can do about that.
You can save into jpg with less compression with gimp. But that wont help the anti-aliasing blurryness.
The design is too detailed to have a clean look in such small raster size.
With correct positioning on the pixel grid you can get clean edges on horizontal and vertical line edges, but again, there are so much diagonal and curved lines, that wont be any better.
You want to have a clear writing with the font displayed only in a six pixel tall line -and less. It will not work that way.

Well at least the fuzzyness hides the fact that the houses geometry is off.
Re: Export to PNG is fuzzy
Attached is an obj that you can put in Inkscape\share\extensions\Poly3DObjects folder, which then you can call straight with the render 3D extension.

Re: Export to PNG is fuzzy
I changed everthing, each piece, including the stoke to a even number mimumum 1. Here are the results.

I did and the obj from Lazur URH to specified folder but could not figure out how to use. Went to Extensions>Render>3D Polyhedron>.. then lost it couldn't find anything for call straight.

Here is the result of that obj. To call it with the 3D Polyhedrons extension, the file's name should be typed in the panel. View was rotated 30° around z axis, and 130-150° around y. The front and back faces were a bit messed up, but could be corrected. Also the shadow is not 100% accurate, but close to it.

oh the houses for some reason I thought it was like a snap to grid for the entire logo thing I see now... thank you
