How To Draw Step-By-Step diagram (Inkscape 0.47)
Inkscape 0.47 was used 100% for this how to draw step-by-step diagram.
To create the line width tapering effect I used the pen tool with the new "spiro path" option set to "ellipse". I really like this feature.
The post I made this diagram for can be found here.

Is it possible to post the svg?
i would like to see how you did the fill of the head shape. did you use a separate layer?
stuff like that.
just curious
thanks

Torvic - Thanks!
The head shape fill is a separate object with no stroke paint that's sitting on the same layer as the spiro path line work, but below it. To save time I use the 'page up'/'page down' shortcut to raise or lower objects within the same layer.
I only used 2 layers this time: one for the navy blue background square and the another for everything else.
I haven't yet uploaded the svg but will post to this thread when it's up.

You can download the svgz file (Inkscape compressed svg) for your own personal use only. I hope it's useful.

Great first attempt Torvic!
There's an easier way to make the eye than breaking or altering the face path: Make a wedge shape for the eye and fill it with the background color (no stroke fill) and place it on top of the face line-work where the eye should go. On top of this wedge you can make the path for the eye and eyelash lines. The advantage of this is that you can grab the eye wedge and eye lines, and move them up and down the face until the eye is in the right spot. In this way the illusion of a continuous face line is created.
