Hi!
Up to March '07 I was participating in bug reporting. Having a sourceforge
account, I received the last comment on any bug in that month.
From that moment on, it was quiet -- I had the impression that no progress
was made on any bug I monitored. For curiosity, I checked an old bug
today... at least I tried. I found, that none of the links to the bugs worked
anymore. And then, that the whole bug repository was moved to launchpad.
When did that happen? I cannot find any announcement in my mails.
There seem to be some bugs which are not imported into the new system,
like:
[ inkscape-Bugs-1193495 ] Incorrect closing confirmation after 'save as'
What happened to these bugs and their reports? How can I tell, if they
are closed, fixed, invalid or what else?
Regards,
Andreas
Were did Sourceforge reports go?
Re: Were did Sourceforge reports go?
Inkscape has moved to another bug tracker https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/
register there, and ask to join the bug team so you can triage bugs if you like

From memory, I don't think the bugs were transfered across (in the export/import sense). I believe people were invited to re-report bugs.

Ah, that would explain it. Thanks.
Re: Were did Sourceforge reports go?
I wasn't a member at the time of the transfer, I came soon after, but I think bugs were imported into launchpad. I remember seeing bugs that refer to other bugs with weird IDs, the old ones from SF. It must have been difficult for developers to migrate and it was a huge undertaking to triage all the bugs in launchpad after the migration.

Re: Were did Sourceforge reports go?
The bugs were transferred, although user accounts werent, so trackings etc got lost.
There was a way to look up the launchpad bug from the sf id but I cant remember how to do it for the life of me...
No actual content should have been lost.
