got a little problem.
the text that i added on a design for a flag is visible in inkscape on my pc in the correct lettertype.
(google font)
on another pc with inkscape but without the font installed the text is visible but in standard text layout.
i did send the file to a company for ptinting a flag and ,as usual with them , more than one problem.
the most important is that their software " the ever so good adobe stuff" even doesn't see the text blocks.....
is there a way to save the svg file so that the lettertype is imbedded in the file ( or make a picture of the text) so that very expensive adobe program can see and read it.
text problem with inkscape made design
Re: text problem with inkscape made design
You can convert the text to path(s) with Ctrl+Shift+C.
(On top of uninstalled fonts, flowed texts are rendered right only in inkscape.)

Re: text problem with inkscape made design
when i do that it should work on every pc ?
can i work on the text after that or is that not possible once it is coverted?
* found on the net that working on the text isn't possible after conversion, so saved a backup file
should i select the textbox or highlight the text itself before converting to paths

Re: text problem with inkscape made design
Converting to path works either way, when the text tool or the object select tool is active and the text is selected.
It converts each of the characters to an open path (with the start-end nodes in the same position), preserving the fill and stroke attributes of the text object.
All the characters are grouped together.
Also, by default, in 0.48 text specific attributes are saved in the xml, you can turn that off in 0.91.
If you want a "print ready" file, you don't want it to be edited anymore, do you?
Saving to pdf is good exactly for that, and there is an option to convert texts to paths.
If you need to edit it on another pc, you should share the used font too -inkscape cannot embed fonts nor use svg fonts made with inkscape in a live way.
Probably known feature requests, you can search the bugtracker.
