Just to make you aware, I tried to download the latest stable Windows installer (0.48.1-2) this morning, and Kaspersky 2011 (which is fully up to date) is reporting the following Trojan in "data0012".

Whilst I'm sure it is probably a false positive, just makes me, and probably anyone else hitting this, a bit too nervous to continue to install.

I have the same problem with Kaspersky 2011. Detect: Trojan.Win32.Oficla.hjh C:\programs\inkscape\inkscape.com.

thanks for the heads up. I'm staying with .47
Re: Kaspersky reporting Trojan
Oh now dee, you know there's no malware in any version of Inkscape! If the installation file had been hacked, we would be made aware (except for the unlucky first). As mentioned, these are false positives, which means Kapersky sees something that it thinks might be "fishy". It's a problem that Kapersky needs to fix, I'm guessing. Because I'm guessing that the new Inkscape release has already been tested on as many different program and system configurations possible, and that developers already know or have heard about the false positive. Hopefully these folks have reported this to Kapersky as well...?
Everyone can feel safe in downloading and installing any version of Inkscape!
And btw, thanks for letting us know, rustyjames and Funcky Jack!

Thanks for the reply and the welcome. Will try again when I am home tonight as I notice the definition in the link I included has been removed so the false positive may have been removed/modified.

Quick update - the latest virus definitions seem to have removed the false positive. Downloads fine now.
