Hello everyone,
New here and new to Inkscape.

I drew a fox's face using a path. The fill right now is a solid color.
What I want to do is to color the chicks (or just bottom sides of the face, whatever) in a different color.

Something like that (image is not mine):



I can just paint over it, using the brush. but it takes too long and more important - it's not accurate at all.
Is there a way to do it accurately and easily?

In vector drawings the most important concept are objects. Your drawing consists of many objects, some overlap, but the drawing isn't just one object that gets painted over.

So to get the cheeks I would create a new object of the shape you want, and color it differently from your existing fill (white if you go by the above example). Then I would clone it and move it straight to the other side of the face. This way when editing the original cheek the other one would symmetrically be updated.

To create a new object look at the toolbar and select the tool you prefer, probably Pen tool. You can then tweak the nodes with the Node tool to get the precision you want, or create a circle for example over one cheek area, and use Path operations (under Path menu item) to intersect the circle with your existing path, this way the outer edges will exactly match.
