Ello all. I have been learning to make newsletters in inkscape and scribus, but i am stuck on the final prep. once the svg or scribus file is complete, how to i get it to gmail? i want the newsletter to show up when they open the email. Sorta like how most businesses do. you open it up and it shows like a mini website. i dont want to attach a pdf of sorts unless needs be, but i was wondering how to get the finished svg or scribus file to the email program.
thnks

Re: Email newsletter
It`s a delicate question. If someone takes a part in your endevour, one could easily end up accused for spam?!
Re: Email newsletter
hmmm, that is good to know. i totally see your point. Let me completly explain my goal.
I have a group of friends that gave me their email addresses so that i could send them updates to my cooking classes i run. i want to make something look nice for my friends and future students. It is only going to people i know and that have given me permission to send it to them. i just want my emails to look professional is all. It will not list products since i do not sale any. It will list tips, tricks and links to my youtube channel(thats a BIG maybe). But it will mostly be pictures of process and tips. I would like the pictures, if possible to be links BUT if not, having just a newsletter with tips an ideas is perfect. I do not have dreamweaver. all i have is scribus, inkscape and gimp2.8.
my html and css is way way way out of date and i do not remember an ounce of it.
thanks guys

Re: Email newsletter
Is there some specific reason to avoid .pdf?
Scribus offers pretty neat customization of .pdf files (where your pictures could represent hyperlinks) while you could prepare layout and images in Inkscape and Gimp.

Re: Email newsletter
There was some extension of uploading to deviantart accounts, maybe you should check that if you want to manage things straight from inkscape.
Re: Email newsletter
The reason i was thinking of avoiding pdf is that people have become very skeptical of pdf's now and viruses. haha
Re: Email newsletter
ill probably use scribus since im pretty good at that and then export it to html some how. Thats the issue i am having. exporting a finished product to html for email blasts
thanks
thanks
Re: Email newsletter
Oh now I get it. Browsers can render svg-s well, so that is an option too. The manual is good on this:

Re: Email newsletter
Thanks for the replies. this is alot harder than i thought it was. haha. trying to export svg to html is crazy. i have tried to export scribus as a pdf then export the pdf in word or office as html and thats a PAIN. I have tried to make the scribus document an image and then image map it in gimp. crazy tough haha. If i could get the imaeg map to work that would be a good start. I only need the title, and two or three images to be links. hopefully gmail will allow image maps in the html. haha.
thanks
thanks
Re: Email newsletter
This is way beyond me -svg is in xml, no need of the pain stuff.
Why would you do that?
You can set image mapping in the svg codes.
There are clear examples on that.

Re: Email newsletter
lol, in scribus i have the option of exporting as pdf or jpg. i would export as jpg, then image map it in gimp. save the code and paste it into a email and send it to my clients.
But if i can convert or image map the inkscape file, that would work to. i just want a nice html newsletter for my clients.
thanks
