Is it possible to set the default zoom for startup?

Postby scruffyeagle » Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:15 am

When Inkscape starts up, it generates an empty document as per my dimension settings - but, it sets the zoom at a level that makes the document about half the size of the work window. (Why so small?) Because of this, I always have to reset the zoom to page view as the 1st thing I do in Inkscape. It would be very nice if I could make that zoom setting automatic as the startup default. Is it possible to do this? TIA.

You should be able to save the zoomed document as your default template, simply open Inkscape, zoom to Page (5) and save it as default.svg into the templates folder.

You'll probably have to do something else too to change the document enough to trigger the save, like create and delete an object.

Thanks, prkos! Worked like a charm.
