Hello, I am a new user of Inkscape and I have to present it to a group of teachers for classroom use at elementary levels. I would like to know what are the main advantages of using Inkscape, rather then MS-Word. MS-Word does offer Vector Drawing with many possibilities. Of course, Inkscape can go much further in its many design possibilities but what would be the basic reasons to use Inkscape instead of MS-Word for elementary levels teachers and students?
Thank you,
Gilles Laverdure

Re: MS-Word
Oh, some time ago there was a message posted about a project using Inkscape to teach children the basics of vector graphics, but it's gonig to take me a while to find it for you. But I will post the link as soon as I find it.
Meanwhile, the best reason I can think of is the future expectations and possibilities of vector graphics. I know it's a growing trend, although I don't remember why (I'm just an amateur hobbyist). However, I'm sure others will be able to give you some excellent responses.
[Edit] Didn't take as long as I thought! Here is the link:
