[solved] icq flower

Postby geon » Tue Jun 03, 2008 4:07 am

HowTo paint something like icq flower? Howto use object like ellipses (as leafes of the flower) in the same manner as "Put Text on Path", where the Path is the basic middle circle?
Thank you¨.

You want to use "create tiled clones" where you select the one petal and clone it using a slight rotation value for each clone. Refer to the Inkscape Guide for how to use "create tiled clones".

You can also do it using Live Path Effects where you have a skeleton path (circle) and a petal (or petals) that you put around the circle using Pattern along Path (Path > Path Effects)

Good point, I totally did think of pattern along path.

I have another idea.
Make a star shape polygon and use the node editor to soften the sharp edges into curves. You can then drag and rotate to make it more petal like.
I've explained how to do something similar here: http://hereshowididit.com/inkscape-play ... pentagons/ (there's a file download there too if you want to modify the one I did).
