Change thickness of Freehand Ellipse

Postby LearningByDoodling » Mon Apr 28, 2014 2:38 pm

Hi!

I like the Freehand tool with the ability to select smoothing. I also like the Ellipse shape using Freehand but when drawing details the thickness is way too thick.
Is there a way to change the thickness for this tool?

Hi.

The pattern used has an absolute value, and applied as a pattern along path live path effect.
The easiest way to change the thickness of the strokes relative to the paths, is by zooming out and drawing bigger.
Once you have strokes you want to change the widths of, you can open the path effect panel (Shift+Ctrl+7 -though that shortcut is not working on my machine) and lower the width value from 1.
Another way to go, if you don't want to zoom out, is to draw a circle with the diameter of the stroke width you would like to use, convert it to path (Ctrl+Shift+C), copy to clipboard (Ctrl+C), then at the freehand tool chose the pattern from clipboard option instead of the ellipse.
