Hi, I have updated Inkscape and have found the update will not allow me to type a hash sign (#) anymore - I am on a UK mac keyboard which does not include a hash sign - does anyone have any tips or ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks,
Sam
Hash sign on mac keyboard
Re: Hash sign on mac keyboard
Hi @v1nce, thanks for this, but this is precisely the issue - alt 3 is the usual way to get hash sign but it does not work on inkscape, shift 3 brings up £, not #.
Thanks for the reply but this does not work, I am afraid...

Re: Hash sign on mac keyboard
It doesn't work (no result at all)
or
alt 3 is binded to another function so that you can't use it because it triggers something else

The former- no result at all.
Re: Hash sign on mac keyboard
I have found a solution - just posting in case anyone else finds the same difficulty:
1. Outside of Inkscape, type a hashtag (alt 3)
2. Highlight and copy the hashtag (cmd-c)
3. Go back into inkscape and open a text box
4. Paste the hashtag (either via Edit, then paste or ctrl-V, not cmd-v)
I think it is a flaw with the recent update that alt-3 no longer works but this is a workaround until it is fixed
