Hi, i seem to have some bits missing, On my panel there is no "Snap bar" plus the "Additional Command/Snap/&Tool option down arrows are not there,
Have i dont something by accident or is this normal or perhaps a different version to the pic in the tutorial menu?,
The program froze today, cursor would not work on anything, i switched off and restarted and it seems ok now, Just wondering about these missing options (assumeing they are missing and i'm not being a nob)
By the way i went through all the drop down boxes and the only thing i restored was the rulers i must have accidently disabled,
Ian
Control panel question
Re: Control panel question
hI.
Which tutorial are you referring to?
Are you sure the snap toolbar are gone? Have a look at the sides & top of the Inkscape window.
The only way (that I know of that is!) to change the layout is to select either Default, Custom, or Wide in the View from the menu bar.

Does this mean you clicked on show/hide>snap toolbar (putting checkmark next to it) and nothing happened?
Your mind is what you think it is.

Re: Control panel question
Hi guys, thanks for the replys, OK then hopefully this link will show the anatomy of the screen,
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... atomy.html
If you look at the top far right there are 3 "down" arrows on the command/snap/tool bars, i dont have these,
Also i have no snap bar,
I have dropped the box down under "view" and found the rulers not ticked, ticked this and got the rulers back on screen, fine,
However there is no mention of the snap bar, I then dropped down each box under all the menu bar symbols and again no mention of a snap bar. (my tool bar symbols look slightly different to the manual pic but i think it is all present and correct,)
At first i wondered if i had unwitingly hid or deleated it and then wondered if i had a different version (no idea what version i do have im afraid, i downloaded it from a google search for free illustrator/paint programs)
Just thought i'd ask as i dont know how important this missing bar will be when i start trying out some of the basic tutorial from the above manual,
Thanks again, Ian

Re: Control panel question
Could you perhaps go to the dropbox Help/About Inkscape and tell us what does it says in the top right corner?
There are some "bars" missing ,) It should look like this:

So ... I'm guessing it's going to be Inkscape 0.46? It's time to download it again/for the first time, either way....
