Four armed chick - colouring

This colouring has been progressing nicely, so I thought I'd post it here for criticism. There is obviously more layers of colouring to add yet.

Colouring is pretty simple this time. I wanted to keep it flat and go for the look I used in Red Monika.

Another snapshot...

I still have to colour the ropes and beads, and I'm not sure what that non-rope thing is.

nice work. are you using any new development releases (bucket fill) to do this?

Yes, absolutely. Bucket fill makes the initial colouring phase so simple. I don't think I use any other new tools - but it's nice to know they are there if I need them.

the reason i ask is because i was working on another portrait of myself yesterday for use on my blog. i was doing it manually with the bezier tool. tedious work. how stable is your devel. release?

Pretty stable. There's a new devel release every few days so it's difficult to say. If I have issues I switch back to 0.45. You have them both on installed on the same PC. Any crashes I've had hasn't resulted in a loss of a file - so it's pretty safe to use even when things do go wrong.
