[solved] Please Help on Vectorizing

Postby bcracer08 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 1:08 pm

I've loaded inkscape to be used to make vinyl decals. I have tryed corel but had no luck. I'm trying to figure out how to take a jpeg and vectorize it so I can make a decal out of it. I have got a jpeg on the screen but I'm not sure how to convert it. If anyone could help I would be very gratefull to you.. I'm not much of a computer wiz if that's not obvious..

That was a huge help thank you.. But now that I've got to the point where it shows the outlines how do I save it and send it to my signblaze program.

That would require an assumed knowledge of Signblaze which I personally have never heard of :) What you'll want to check is what Signblaze file requirements are. Perhaps it's just EPS or PDF. Perhaps it has a required colour mode (RGB, CMYK). Then you need to figure out how to get Inkscape to produce the compatiable format.

Unfortunately, using Inkscape for professional print work isn't a well documented task, so you'll be somewhat of a pioneer. I think the people who have done it have saved their files as PNG first.
