Thanks for the help on finding the website. I can see just by reading the download page that Inkscape is not for me. I dont have a clue what is being said on the webpage or even what to donwload. Tarball? Bzip??? Ubuntu?? .sig files?????

Thanks.

Stable release 0.48.4 intended for production use is available:

•Source Tarball — .gz See README to install, or CompilingInkscape for troubleshooting help.
•Source Tarball Bzip — .bz2 See README to install, or CompilingInkscape for troubleshooting help.
•Ubuntu Software Centre has a one-click install for Inkscape.
•Mac OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard — Universal .dmg (requires Apple's X11/Xquartz 2.3.4 or higher)
•Windows — installer, portable, 7zip
•OSS-Marketplace.com
Download any of the above (as well as .sig files and previous releases) at the Sourceforge Downloads page, or through your distro's update capabilities.

Do you know what operating system is installed on your computer? I''m guessing Windows, but it's better to be sure, before I lead you down the wrong road :D

Brynn,

When I go to any of the download links for stable release 0.48.4, what actually downloads is 0.48.2, which I already have.

Any solutions? I am not really confident with tarball, et al.

My system: Mac OSX 10.8.4

Thanks,

T
