Could anyone point me to a tutorial or explain how to resolve this issue:
I pasted a screen capture into Inkscape and had it converted to vectors. Edit path by nodes (PBN) button shows the nodes and line correctly.
There are some items in the result that I need to delete. Specifically, this is an architectural drawing with notes and symbols that I'd like to delete.
If I select the PBN, then drag a box around the item to delete, I can press the delete key and the selection goes away but the item remains.
Q:How do I select and delete unwanted items from the drawing?
[solved] Clean up a trace result
Re: Clean up a trace result
Hi Jeff,
select the object first, then drag around the nodes you want to remove from it. The node tool only selects nodes on a selected object.
Using the node tool by dragging around an object that is not selected will just select the object, not its nodes. And objects can't be deleted with the node tool, only nodes.
Or, if it is a real separate object that you would like to remove, just use the selection tool to select (on a trace, this will probably not work).

Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
