I am not sure what, if anything, this might be good for. And I am not quite happy with the "glow" around the stars.

It looks like the outer-edge of the glow is blue and the centre is white, you could try change white to cyan to get a little more contract contrast between the glow and the source of light.

I like the glow!

The problem I have with the glow is that it doesn't fit too well with the "nebula" or whatever you want to call it, the dark-blue band in the background.

Oh, well that could be my problem then. Because I don't see a dark blue band. It all looks black to me.

I keep my monitor brightness turned down though, because of cataracts. So...well no, I turned the brightness to 100% and still no blue.

The glow on the stars does look ever so slightly blue though. So it may be the blue is just too dark, yet still blue enough for the blur to pick up on. Did you use a blur or a gradient? Because you might be able to manipulate the color of the outer stop of a gradient to compensate for what doesnt' look right to you -- maybe??
