Hi to everyone,
This is my first post on the forum. I apologize if the question has already been asked.
I did a simple drawing with inkscape by connecting straigth and curved lines, drown with and tools respectively, connecting them pretty carefully and precisely. I set their width to be the same, nameliy1.3 pts, and they look good and uniform. But when I export my image in .pdf, the junctions look awful and the curved parts have a different width. What happens? How can I fix this issue?
Thank you,
Giacomo
Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
Re: Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
Hi.
Make sure that transformations are saved optimised.
Setting is available in the preferences (Ctrl+Shift+P).

This preference was actually already set on optimized but the problem is there anyway Oher ideas?
Re: Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
Not sure, can you provide an example file with the error?

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Re: Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
Cool, sorry! I didn't see it
So, this is a picture of the junction as displayed in inkscape:
And this is how it is visualized by adobe acrobat:
The scale is little bit different but actually it doesn't metter, even at smaller scales the defect is visible. It is not a huge problem, but it is rather disappointing..

Could you perhaps upload the problem svg file, or a close svg example (if the example file is private)?

Re: Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
So it's the green line's width, and not the size of the marker.
Could be a rendering issue of acrobat, foxit may show it differently.
Or...
There seems to be a gap in between. Did you try merging the two end nodes together?
Assuming it's a stroked path with no fill.
If not just a simple stroke -is that a path made with the pencil tool, with a triangle shape, and a thick stroke on it?
Then removing the pattern along path live path effect would solve it.

Re: Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
Yes, the problem is at the green line. I did a straight line with this , and then I did an arch with . Then I put them one close to the other. Is this a wrong procedure? How can I merge the nodes, being them two separate objects?
Thank you
Thank you
Re: Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
First convert the ellipse/arc to path (Ctrl+Shift+C), then use the node tool to select both objects,
and select the two end nodes and click on the merge nodes icon at the toolbar.

Hi!
This is my first post.
I have a similar problem, I hope I'm posting in the correct place.
I have a drawing with stroke width 5 in the project, but when i export to png it shows as if it had stroke width 1.
Help?
I had a attachment for test purpose.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Problem with lines width when saving a .pdf
Open the SVG file with a text editor, and search and replace all occurrances of "vector-effect:non-scaling-stroke;" with "" (nothing). Save and reopen with Inkscape
