Things. At half way.
Things. At half way.
This is the topic where I'll show what I'm working on.
I cannot keep too many drawings, so please bear with it, old ones will be removed.

Re: Things at half of their way
Wow, RM.!
Dexter is still one of my all time favorites, of work I've seen posted here. Any chance you would consider showing the Outline view? I really want to learn how you create such convincing fabric and face/body features, and try to improve my skills.
The fabric views of Britney (bottom right corner) are amazing -- entirely realistic!
Well I hope you will be able to finish some of these. Many of them seem to be very close to finished already? Although I have many unfinished works too, and I know that sometimes I'm just tired of working on something. I think if I wait awhile, I'll get motivated again. But I hope you'll get motivated too, because some of these are just exceptional!

Wow, that's amazing!
I can see how you've run into performance issues on some. One of these days I'll try to draw some human form, like a portrait or something. I think I'm getting the hang of 3d for geometric shapes. But skin and fabric are still quite the challenge.
But anyway, thanks for posting those. I'll be studying them for clues

Re: Things at half of their way
Oh awesome!
Did you use your Pixtor technique to make these?
I've often wished (to myself) microUgly would install a mod to display the flag of the member's country in their profile. We have such a diverse membership here, I just think it would be fun and interesting. However, I don't really know if phBB even has a mod for something like this, lol.
Is that the US flag, bottom row, 2nd from right? It's backwards. The blue should be in top left corner. And the red/white stripes should be horizontal. ....maybe it's not the US flag at all?

Off topic:
Yes, there was some comment about the cup. I don't remember the details. But that new member came back and edited spam into it a few days later. So I had to delete it. It probably was not a sincere request...I think it asked for a tutorial, if I recall. Sorry --

I'm having fun drawing little realistic object like if they were on the screen. I was going to propose this as a 'challenge', let me know if you're interested..
And this is an early concept for Vlc made today.. I would be happy to hear your thoughts about it.

Re: Things at half of their way
Hi RM.
I'm not sure what you mean by "drawing little realistic object like if they were on the screen". Do you mean on the screen of that device? I can hardly keep up with technology these days. What kind of device is it? As far as a "challenge" or "exercise" I might not even know what kind of objects might be displayed on the screen. Or maybe I have misunderstood entirely?
And regarding the 2nd image, I'm sorry, but I don't know what a Vlc is
It looks like an interface for viewing videos?

Re: Things at half of their way
^ I`m also in for "realistic object challenge" but I`m not quite sure if I understood properly that mentioned screen appearance. Could it be - like these objects were seen on screen / as a part of tv commercial i.e. ?
VLC skin looks nice, clean and minimalistic, but... not sure if I would find it instantly. Perhaps you reduced it a bit too far. Since you used orange with grey, maybe orange from VLC logo could be the one? Also, VLC offers some neat tools (as advanced controls) and it would be nice to make some room for them too. Think it would make the skin more recognizable as VLC skin. Still, nice work.

Re: Things at half of their way
Sometimes i wonder how much it takes to understand my comments..
The idea is to draw objects that we use everyday ( like the smartphone i posted, or keys, pencils etc. ) like if they were on a desk, table or even a computer screen.
@ Brynn: VLC is an open source media player for music and videos. If you didn't search it, you can find it here: Home I Skins
@ Maestral: What did you mean with 'find it'? Do you think it is small? The size is actually perfect to me. Buttons aren't crisp enough and colors need contrast. I was thinking to add more controls on a different window, would that work? Do you use Vlc?
I'll post an update soon..

Re: Things at half of their way
Sorry, my sentence was not complete... what I meant to say is: signs on the buttons are small and I hardly recognize them, so for me it`s hard to tell which is which and I`m not sure if I could find the desired one instantly.
Yes, I use VLC for a long time, mostly because it is customizable and reliable. Here are some additional buttons which I added to the interface.
