Keyboard shortcut to change stroke width?

Postby begtognen » Sun Aug 19, 2018 1:31 am

Hi there,

Is there a way to use a keyboard shortcut to change stroke width?

I'm asking because I change the stroke width several times in the course of creating one image.

It would be great to have a shortcut - I use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible, and there doesn't seem to be a way to jump from the stroke width dialogue box (under Stroke Style) back to the canvas without using the mouse. (Before Inkscape, I used an ancient program called Creature House Expression under Wine with Linux - 1995 to 2015, not bad! Anyway, Expression had keyboard shortcuts for changing stroke width.)

So I'm often messing up and typing my keyboard shortcuts into the stroke width window.

Thanks for your time and suggestions.

I tend not to use keyboard shortcuts, so I can't say off the top of my head. But I wanted to suggest you could look in Help menu > Key and Mouse Reference. If there is a shortcut for it, that's where you'll find it.

With the fill&stroke dialog open in the stroke style tab:
- select object
- hit Ctrl+Shift+F
- hit Tab 2x
- change stroke width
- hit Tab
- hit Escape to return to canvas
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
