Hi. I have created a few logos in Inkscape. 0.46 on Ubuntu 8.04/Gnome. When I try to view the SVG files
outside of inkscape part of the images are blacked out. Fonts show up with a big square box etc. I
have tried saving them as standard SVG but they look the same whether I view them in Firefox or gnome image viewer
or anything else. The show up fine in Inkscape only and if I export to bitmap PNG it its fine. How do I make it so that
programs that support viewing SVG files like firefox etc. can view SVG files created in Inkscape without all these
blocks and squares showing up.
Thanks.
svg files created are not viewable by anything else

The problem is flowed text (flowPara/flowRoot). Use Text -> Unflow to get rid of those elements.
Using text for logos isn't a good idea though since the used fonts may not exist on other platforms (they also may look slightly differently). So, for things like that it's always a good idea to convert them to path (Path -> Object to Path). (There is no need to unflow it beforehand.)
