I'm trying to make a one color Vector image for vinyl cutouts. But when I do the trace I loose the details how do i do it without loosing detail

I guess you will need to tinker around with the Trace options. Can you show the image (or a similar image) that you want traced?

Look into the "options" tab of the tracing dialog, there are most of the settings that will simplify your tracing, thus 'loosing' the details. Or is the problem that the original is working with, and using, colors? If you post a pic similar to what you want to trace, maybe we can help you further.
