Hey there,
I know, this topic was here more than once, but still I couldn't be helped. I need to open some .eps Vector files, but there is no way I can manage this. I tried installing Plugins and stuff for inkscape, so that it should actually open .eps natively, but all I get when I try to open an .eps file is an error message. I have also tried to open the .eps files with other software like Open Office Draw or Scribus or even XaraLX. OpenOffice was the only one to open them correctly and then I tried to convert the file to .svg or .emf, but the .emf file cannot be opened in inkscape and in the .svg I have no opportunity to edit the nodes somehow.
Can anyone help me?
I am running on Ubuntu Linux.
[solved] Importing .eps
Re: Importing .eps
Upload it on MediaFire and post the link here and I'll convert it with Illustrator for you.
Re: Importing .eps
That's truely a nice offer, but I'm afraid, I must not send these .eps files since they are files for resale. Is there any other way to convert it with Linux?
Re: Importing .eps
Have you tried using a development build of 0.46?
I almost forgot, but we have a thread about this already - viewtopic.php?f=22&t=85

Re: Importing .eps
The easiest way that I have found is to first follow these directions for importing an eps into scribus and then export as svg so that inkscape can work with it.
