hi. I am quite new to inkscape so please bear with me....
i am trying to clip an object...
i have imported a photo and want to clip in a heart shape. i imported a heart. now when i clip the photo i can only see the heart but the outline of the original photo is the margin of the clipped image... (although it's white outline) how do i go about getting rid of that outline and only keeping the heart..?

I can't tell from the screenshot if you are seeing just the "bounding-box" (the outline indicating an object is selected) of if there is something else you are seeing.
Please share the svg file.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

close file and reopen to see if it is the selection box
Your mind is what you think it is.
