I'm sorry but I can't find solution of my problem here in forum.
This is problem:
Align + distribute tool.
This tool in my case always set the same distance between objects. If I set horizontal spacing to zero, or 10pt or -10pt, the same result. What I am doing wrong?
Ah, yes, I use InkScape 0.48.5.

Re: Align and distribute tool not use number
The number boxes (below the "Remove overlaps" label in an English build) only work with the button to the right of them. Are you pressing that button, or trying to use one of the others in the dialog?
I covered this dialog in Parts 38 & 39 of my tutorial series - perhaps reading that will help to shed some light on the problem: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11981
Otherwise can you give a bit more detail about exactly what steps you're using.

Yes, I tried to use one of other buttons. Because, you know, I need exactly amount of distance between objects. In most casee is 1 - 3 mm.
Thankyou anyway.

Re: Align and distribute tool not use number
The buttons in the Align & Distribute dialog are used for aligning objects to other objects, or distributing a group of objects evenly, based on the existing positions of the first and last objects. The "Remove Overlaps" option tries to shuffle things around to give a minimum amount of space between objects, but still isn't the right tool if you want a very specific distance between them in one direction or the other.
You might find it better to use the "Rows and Columns" dialog ("Arrange" in 0.91). I covered that in Part 41 of my series. Inkscape 0.91 greatly improved this dialog - in particular, in 0.48.x the dimensions are in pixels; it's better to use 0.91 if you want to choose other units, otherwise you'll have to do the conversion by hand first.
