just curious.. it's annoying me...

Only been using inkscape for a couple of days.. but so far no real issues, pretty cool to create logos..

I'm not sure if this is correct or something I have set wrong... but it's bugging me..

Create circle.. Path > Object to Path

I expected the 4 nodes to be at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock .. and 9 o'clock..

For the past couple of hours though, they are off as in the attached image.. is this normal ?... thanks!

It may be so but it's effective.

Before the first 2 posts approval system it was 100+ spam posts a day, flooding the boards by instant.

Latency is no longer than a few hours the most.

But if that is still annoying, try the irc channel #inkscape @ freenode.

Yes. No more annoying delay from that aspect.

Off topic:
Problem is when you only have 1 post approved and edit your first post it needs to be approved again. Similarly you ended up having first 3 post approved.

Probably you rotated the circle before converting it to a path. You did nothing wrong, guessing it is intentional.

There are a couple of topics here on how inkscape is not a cad software and how everything is based on Bézier curves.
Circular path segments are not implemented yet, and the circle svg element came in "not so long ago". Before the circle was more of an ellipse in the codes, with x and y radiuses -hence the fixed 90° placement stuck. Behave is more convenient if you consider by even the smallest difference in the height/width ratio, you have an ellipse, and by rotating it the extremes are transformed as well.

If that's annoying, check out this topic to add nodes at the horizontal/vertical extremes to any path.

Path has 5 nodes... a closer look shows why:

The ellipse controls bar has a button at the end to close the ellipse before conversion to path.

Thanks @Lazur interesting article.... and thanks for pointing that out @tylerdurden

Soo just created a new circle with the ellipse tool.. the gap was there... zoomed in....

Used the edit path by nodes tool (was it already a path?) ..clicked on the 2 circles at the break in the circle.. it joined up..

Path > object to path.. works perfectly..

Now every time I create a circle with the ellipse tool.. there is no gap anymore .. so always works... with nodes at N S E W...
