will Inkscape 0.92 be released before the end of 2016 ?

Just wondering....

I assumed after the splash screen contest, it would be ready to go.

Rumours say it will come out in a few days.
Except for mac users. They probably won't see anything this time if someone won't drop in for compiling.

No idea, but I you can keep and eye on https://inkscape.org/es/develop/next-release/ to see how things evolve... although at this point the page is little useless as the only point remaining is precisely "release".

Off topic:
Although the perspective lpe can come handy it would need some rethinking of the guidelines. Way of duplicating them, pulling one off from a vanishing point, fixed origin but unfixed rotation etc etc.

Inkscape0.92 is online. But no MacOS version will be available - I´m pissed. :oops:

There's a sliver of light on the horizon: Someone already sent a message to the devel list that they might take on packaging for 0.92 :)
(but no previous experience, so might still take some time)

Anyone who can give some support there is welcome to help out!

Because I´m thankful to the existence of Inkscape I try to give back as much as I can using vector graphics now for over 27 years and not being able to help with development/coding. So Inkscape leaving MacOS simply hurts but it seems to bring up a main issue here and it´s the very low user base on that platform - which I still can´t believe but have to accept. I know for sure compiling Inkscape for Mac isn´t a trivial job but I really hope one at least will find a way.

Thank you for this info. I would like to give the MacPorts option a try but I'm worried about my existing installation. Can I install this without uninstalling .91?

@cleversomeday: Can you ask on the user mailing list? Victor Westmann had the same problem, but I don't know how he solved it - only *that* he solved it.
