Playing with vectors

Postby gamsufa » Thu Apr 09, 2015 7:35 pm

Hello!

I'm lost.

I want to make a vector ribbon for printing and scaling... But separate parts scales different and when you have vector, border scales not proportionally and distance between edge and required point changes.

I think, the solution would be to make everything from the same path?

So the question is - how?

Hi,
I'm not that much of an Inkscape hero but I think grouping and/or combining, joining nodes, etc is the way to go...

Your drawing also seems to be symmetrical (vertically). You can draw half of it, then duplicate (Ctrl+D) or clone (Alt+D) the half, and mirror the duplicate or clone (when the :tool_selector: tool is selected, there are mirror icons on the toolbar on top).

Howdy,
Grouping all objects will permit scaling them proportionally.

The proportional scaling of strokes can be controlled by the buttons on the toolbar.

It does not let me to join 3 nodes and I need white and black colors in different places.. Combined object lets me to use just one.

You might be better off using multiple objects and grouping.

Hello there!

Don't feel lost, follow the blind.

Seems you try to match a filled path with no stroke to stroked ones joins. It just doesn't work.
You can use snapping to align nodes at the same position.
Graphically it would be more consistent if all parts had the same stroke width.
