SVGZ viewer?

Postby microUgly » Thu Sep 20, 2007 8:59 am

Can anyone recommend a good Windows SVG viewer that supports SVGZ?

I wanted to check out the presentation at http://www.w3.org/2003/Talks/0818-Sydne ... rview.html but it's in SVGZ format which Opera doesn't seem to like and I know Inkscape won't be much good because it contains animations.

I trust Batik (http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/batik/), but unfortunately it gives the following error:
"SVG Error:
Root element namespace does not match that requested:
Requested: http://www.w3.org/2000/svg
Found: null"
I have let the developers know.

I found that program also and forgot to say. I also got the same error. I actually assumed it was an error with the file. It's pretty old and I suspected some of the paths were incorrect.

Thanks

It is. The problem is that the file has the typo "xmnls" instead of "xmlns". Consequently, the root element is not in the SVG namespace (or any other namespace), as the error message says.

Dear sas,
I have replaced all 'xmnls=' with 'xmlns=' now something is shown..., the following warnings are issued:
"svg error: null"
and then
"file:/F:/_mytemp/Consortium/Offices/Presentations/xsltSlidemaker/AlternativeStyles/W3CSVG.css:
Invalid CSS document.
F:\_mytemp\Consortium\Offices\Presentations\xsltSlidemaker\AlternativeStyles\W3CSVG.css (Cannot find the path)"

I have downloaded the style sheet separately and installed it in the required directory, now the first page of the
presentations is shown, Batik issues:
"svg error: null"
and cannot move to the subsequent slides...

I can view almost the whole slideshow with Opera 9.24. There are a couple of image links that don't work and the minesweeper page doesn't work properly - but on the whole it works ok.

Hope this helps,

Tony

Ah, I'm using the Alpha of 9.5. I didn't think that would be a problem since they've been boasting improved support for SVG in this version.

I have found Opera pretty good on SVG and about the only one capable of svgz.

Since , ironically that w3c page seems to have several errors , it maybe that the better support is thowing out what 9.24 was prepared to accept.

Bit sad if w3c cant even follow thier own standards. :(
