Inkscape circle tricks
Re: Inkscape circle tricks
Hi Joe,
I think there's something wrong with this one. There's no sound, and action on the video only lasts about 2 out of 8+ minutes. Even though the timer keeps going, nothing else is happening. Plus, it doesn't appear to be about circles at all.

Re: Inkscape circle tricks
The sound problem is me and my bad english.
I saw the video and nothing was wrong.

Ok, I tried again, and this time, I can see the whole video. It was weird before, I never stopped it. It just stopped -- the action stopped, but the timer and the progress indicator kept right on going. So at least I can see the whole thing now. But I still don't get any sound. If I put the sound to the max on the video control, and put my system as high as it will go, I can hear a sort of high pitched whining sound. But no voice. I don't know if it matters, but I'm using Firefox.
Let me watch/listen to some of the others you made (to check for sound)(for troubleshooting) I'll report back
Edit
Ok, the maiandros one, same high pitched kind of motor sound, when turned up to max. But no voice. the one about GIMP doesn't have the high-pitched sound, but it doesn't have a voice either.
Can anyone else hear a voice on these?

I'm sorry I missed your reply until now
Oh, ok. There may be other ways besides using your own voice to disguise not perfect English. Like for example, maybe you could use captions? Something like "Step 1 - Pen tool" or something like that? To be honest, I find that the verbal instruction in some video tutorials are annoyingly self-serving, and often excessive and unnecessary. In your video, it's really quite clear what you're doing at almost every step, and imo not alot of additional instructions would be needed. I've seen a couple of videos Inkscape tutorials with music in the background. So that's another idea.
Really I just mentioned the lack of voice because most videos I've seen do include some kind of sound. I did not intend to sound critical, and I'm sorry if I did. I thought that something might be wrong with it, that you might want to fix.
Or maybe the problem is that I don't frequent YT, and probably compared to most people, have seen very few videos . Maybe it's not so unusual not to have sound?
In any case, you've done a good job with all of them! Have you seen any of the videos here: http://screencasters.heathenx.org/ Maybe you'll want to put a collection of your own videos on your own website?

Re: Inkscape circle tricks
@ brynn
if understand correct your replay is positive for my work an d thank you.
About the videos now i think the best for all is not to use voice on it.
Maybe background sound or snapshots or a svg file with all steps.
I have seen almost all video-tutorials in net about Inkscape and other similar programs (gimp ...)
Website i cant make by myself .
Finally i use Inkscape both Ubuntu 11.04 and Vista and i find problems .
In linux is faster (in begin) when I'm not use effects or something alse that's need video cards power
After apply one effect is getting slow and i cant use it any more
In windows i can use effects is and is less slower.
The L-system i can use it only in windows
Anyway i think is my video card who makes the problems (Laptop Toshiba A210 Video-card HD2600)
Thank you
