I'm using INKSCAPE to create my projects and using SIGNCUT to execute the printing. When I export my SVG to SIGNCUT the fonts loose their form and don't carry over in their proper form (it's like their jagged and out of alignment). I didn't use to have this problem. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm using Signcut Productivity Pro and the latest version ofINKSCAPE.
THANK YOU

Re: Inkscape and Signcut {help}
Welcome to InkscapeForum!
I see that you've also posted a reply to another topic (viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10529#p43713) with a similar problem. In this one, you say that you are having this trouble when exporting SVG to SignCut; while in the other one, you're having trouble exporting EPS to SC. So just to be clear, you're having the same trouble whether you send the SVG or whether you send an EPS to SC?
Have you tried converting text to path before exporting? (Path menu > Object to Path)

Re: Inkscape and Signcut {help}
I use Inkscape and Sign Cut and had the same problem. I was told to save as EPS in Inkscape, open Sign Cut and then open the saved file. It worked.
I know you can import SVG but they did say EPS works better.
I don't think the following would cause your current problem but there are a few things that can cause problems when a file is exported to Sign Cut.
- Do not use files in the (root) layer. If they are in the (root) layer, create a new layer and move the file, don't just change the name of the layer.
- Make sure opacity is set at 100%.

Thanks for the info Carolyn
I just happened to stumble across this, and thought this would be a good topic to post it. It says it "comes with" SignCut, so perhaps most users already have them. But just in case: http://www.signcutpro.com/SignCut-Produ ... ugins.html

Re: Inkscape and Signcut {help}
I edited my previous comment as I wanted to check a few things out before giving incorrect information. I removed the part that said I was advised to use Inkscape 0.47 by a friend. I was told Sign Cut worked better with version0.47 and a new update was to be released to make Sign Cut compatible with the latest version of Inkscape.
Out of curiosity I installed the latest version of Inkscape, tested a few things with text and it was all jumbled when sent to Sign Cut. I tried saving as EPS and that didn't work either. Unfortunately I am now having the same problem with 0.47. I guess something changed on my computer. Luckily I have another program I can use for cutting after designing in Inkscape.
I had a look at the Sign Cut site to find out more information and this is all I could findhttps://getsatisfaction.com/signcut/topics/inkscape_to_signcut_productivity_pro_fixIt explains the issue between the two programs. I have re-installed Sign Cut and all the plug-ins and found nothing worked. Remember I am no expert and it could be a computer issue not the Sign Cut program.
I think if you are having problems it may be best to contact Sign Cut directly and ask them for the solution. The problem appears to be in how the two programs interact.

Re: Inkscape and Signcut {help}
You haven't told us what your problem is, so we have no way of knowing whether the above mentioned suggestions should be expected to help. If you'd like to tell us something about your problem, we might be able to offer more help.
Other than that, I didn't see where anyone said they are trying to figure anything out. The suggestion was to contact SignCut directly
