Hello all,
I delete the last binary I got that was able to print well on Windows XP. I tried different recent versions, but none seems able to print correctly.
does anyone know what is the last version able to print correctly.
I need something after the last stable 0.45 version wich is lacking many functions I need.

PS: if someone can explain me why it's so difficult to get back to the old (but working well) printing code, it could be nice..

I believe (don't quote me) that printing problems with 0.46 will be fixed in 0.46.1. You might like to try one of the development builds of 0.47 to see if it work for you.

Also, try searching this forum as I'm sure there has been some topics posted about printing under XP that might have more information for you.

I already made several searches about that in the past few weeks, but not in the recent days. will try again to see if there is anything more helping.

the last dev build I can see is the "inkscape-0804031700.7z" file.. don't know if there is a more recent one somewhere else.
will try more recent version as soon as I can see it.

I also see another problem with the 0.46 dev build I use on the Font selection. if I select a text and try to select another font in the list, nothing happen..!?
well for now I think I'm gonna install two version; the "stable" 0.45 and a recent 0.46 "dev".
so I could have the recent functions with the 0.46 and change fonts and print with the 0.45.

and will wait for the 0.46.1 or more..

This was the thread I was thinking of which doesn't really have as much information as I thought - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=775

You can work around the font selection issue by using the "Text and Font" dialog instead. Apparently if you change the default font in this dialog it can fix the problem, but I know this didn't worked for me - viewtopic.php?f=29&t=857

I already see this thread the first time I tried a 0.46 version and the "bitmap" mode printing didn't worked at all for me at that time.
I just tried again with the devel version I use now, but it's still the same.

you are right about the "font and text" dialog, it's working well.

so I will create and edit my documents with a 0.46dev version, and keep the 0.45.1 only for the printing.

Hello, I just see a new (for me) link to download recent dev versions here : http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1289 and made just two rapid test with the Inkscape19796-0809031935.7z version for my printing problem and it seems to be solved.
I'm probably a little late on it, because I didn't tried dev versions recently, sorry..
will have to do more test, but already a big THANK for it..!!
