Trick: Simulating a curved gradient

Postby hulf2012 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 5:02 am

Hello,
A recent topic give me the idea to make this tutorial- trick
about simulating a gradient around a path using just extensions of inkscape:

By the way can someone teach me how can I show an svg original here in the forum?... Did I asked this before??

EDIT: Ah!, warning!. While i was doing this tutorial i found some unexpected behaviours (Bugs) when using the Pattern along path extension, like disapearing other objects created or groups (the screenshots, other objects created with the refered extension), mostly when triggering an "undo" command. So, please save always your work.
If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.
2.- Please check here:
http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/index.html
3.- If you manage to solve your problem, please post here your solution.

Hi.
By the way can someone teach me how can I show an svg original here in the forum?

Here is what I do to show svg, there might be other (better) ways of doing this.
File is on dropbox.

Code: Select all

[url=https://dl.dropbox.com/s/5q3iynkhrs1mnac/d300.svg][svg]https://dl.dropbox.com/s/5q3iynkhrs1mnac/d300.svg[/svg][/url]

In the url the "www" is replaced by "dl" (download?);

For anyone else looking into this effect, here are a couple of posts that have similar solutions. There is no one step way just yet to get there.
Your mind is what you think it is.

I know this was already answered here:

Here is what I do to show svg, there might be other (better) ways of doing this.
File is on dropbox.

Code: Select all

[url=https://dl.dropbox.com/s/5q3iynkhrs1mnac/d300.svg][svg]https://dl.dropbox.com/s/5q3iynkhrs1mnac/d300.svg[/svg][/url]

But the easier way is to highlight the url to the file you want to show and simply use the svg button so it ends up like so:

Code: Select all

[svg]http://openclipart.org/people/MrSmiles/Lined_Paper.svg[/svg]

The result is the following:

SVG Image

MrSmiles is my username over at OpenClipArt.org, I don't have much up there yet, but I have shared a few things I thought others might find useful. I think all my files a Multi-Layered, which helps to learn how these things are done. :)

Hope this helps.
